Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., from which Sternlicht was Chairman and CEO, is a company he founded in 1995. Sternlicht has been credited as a dynamic and innovative hotel leader, creating new products and programs with immediate global appeal. He created W Hotels, perhaps the world's most successful "boutique" brand, and grew the St. Regis brand from a single property to a global luxury hotel chain. Most recently he has developed SH Hotel including brands like 1 Hotel, Baccarat, and Treehouse. Some of his innovations include the creation of Westin’s “Heavenly Bed,” Starwood Preferred Guest, the world’s first frequent traveler program with "no blackouts."
Sternlicht joined as partner and owner of Nomade People in 2020 and is helping to shape and develop the company into one of the most alternative and leading hospitality companies in the lifestyle sector. Mexico is where Nomade People was apprehended, and he will continue to pursue its growth in one of the most important countries for tourism in the world.
